The Association of Franchise and Trademarks Services (TAGMOA) for the UAE and Middle East has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Commercial Franchise Center under the Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, marking a major step toward deepening regional collaboration and accelerating franchise development across the Arab world.

The MoU was signed during the launch ceremony of the fourth edition of the Commercial Excellence Program, held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Al Fadl bin Mohammed Al Harthy, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers. The event also witnessed the signing of several Omani and international franchise brands, reflecting Oman’s growing stature as a regional franchising hub.

Key Areas of Cooperation:

Under Article (2) of the agreement, TAGMOA and the Oman Chamber have committed to cooperation across the following domains:

🔹 Exhibitions

• Mutual participation as exhibitors at each other’s franchise expos.

• Promotion of partner events via official channels.

• Facilitation of franchisor and business concept participation across borders.

🔹 Conferences

• Exchange of speakers at events, upon request.

• Responsibility for travel and accommodation lies with the requesting party.

🔹 Training & Capacity Building

• Joint delivery of training programs, workshops, and seminars.

• Designation of experts, issuance of certificates, and exchange of best practices in franchise operations.

🔹 Franchise Market Reports

• Development and exchange of comprehensive country reports including:

  • Country profile

  • Economic sector overview

  • Retail sector analysis

  • Franchise industry landscape

• Reports to be distributed among members of both parties.

🔹 Information Sharing & Market Access Support

• Guidance and regulatory insights to support cross-border franchise expansion.

• Exchange of experiences and SME development models.

• Market entry support for member companies.
