The Franchise & trademarks Association for UAE & GCC , known as “Tagmoa,” is grounded in the principles that guide franchise associations globally. As an active global network, Tagmoa unites franchise groups and associations with the mission of protecting companies’ brands and intellectual property rights, in accordance with the Professional Conduct Document of the World Franchise Council (WFC). This framework cultivates valuable partnerships that drive economic development and strengthen ties to the global economy.
In response to requests from franchise companies, the association has been renamed the “Franchise & trademarks Association for UAE & GCC (Tagmoa) for the UAE and GCC Countries.” As a public-benefit, non-profit organization, Tagmoa serves as a dynamic and effective federal coalition of franchise companies across the UAE and GCC countries. According to the association’s regulations, franchisors, franchisees, suppliers, and investors interested in franchising are eligible for membership, granting them access to over 20 specialized services provided by the association.
The Franchise & trademarks Association for UAE & GCC (Tagmoa), in alignment with the systems of the World Franchise Council (WFC) and its membership in the Asia-Pacific Franchise Confederation (APFC), operates under principles that promote unified global franchise systems. The association forms a coalition of companies, associations, and franchise groups dedicated to protecting companies’ brands and rights through the WFC’s Professional Conduct Document and binding guidelines, ensuring the protection of companies’ interests and the resolution of disputes. This coalition facilitates productive partnerships and creates pathways for franchise companies in GCC countries to establish their own associations, thereby serving as a voice that advocates for their interests and defends their rights within an organized framework. This process advances their expansion and integration into global franchise networks through their membership in the Tagmoa coalition.
To register any association as a global member of the WFC, specific requirements, conditions, and governance standards must be met. These standards are designed to organize and govern the franchise system, fostering a WIN-WIN relationship between franchisors and franchisees. Additionally, the framework includes dispute resolution through mediation, ensuring continued cooperation and enabling associations to benefit from local and global expertise. These stringent standards have made the franchise model one of the most secure, low-risk, and fastest-growing business models both locally and globally. Obtaining global membership in the WFC and
APFC also requires nomination by the regional federal association, Tagmoa, with approval through a voting process by the association’s members from various countries.
The Franchise & trademarks Association for UAE & GCC (Tagmoa) is also committed to establishing and empowering franchise companies within the UAE by providing a comprehensive network for cooperation and information-sharing. This network allows members to benefit from shared experiences, best practices, and innovative ideas, supporting Gulf expansion for local brands and encouraging diversification within the franchise sectors. The association also offers specialized training, awareness programs, and protection services for franchise investors, in addition to various consultations with local and global experts on franchise contracts and related matters. This approach builds a robust franchise system that opens up real market opportunities for Gulf and global franchise businesses.
